It’s National Shoe Fitting Week starting 8 April 2017 and Advance Performance – the running and triathlon stores for everyone are celebrating!
They’re joining in with the message that’s being put out by the The Society of Shoe Fitters during National Shoe Fitting Week.
Managing Director Samantha Hale explains why, “Although we’re specifically a specialist sports store fitting and retailing running shoes, we agree that professional shoe fitting is vital at all ages and frequently provide shoes to customers for numerous reasons including everyday comfort & walking in addition to running.
“Since we opened our very first store in Peterborough in 1999, we’ve been offering specialist video gait analysis as part of our running shoe fitting service, which is the mainstay and very basis of our business. Our aim is to provide shoes that are right for every customer’s need.”
The Society of Shoe Fitters say, “Few people realise that putting a child in ill-fitting shoes can damage their health in later life. If we walk to avoid pain then it wears out other joints and tendons in the body and that is why so many people get problem knees, leg, hip, back, shoulder and neck pain.
“If joints wear unnaturally then nerves can get caught in them creating great pain and later rheumatism and arthritis may also attack the worn joints.”
You can find out more about The Society of Shoe Fitters on their website and look out for the campaign hashtag #Loveyourfeet on social media.
Advance Performance stores in Peterborough and Cambridge providing fitting and gait analysis to adults and children, they don’t have a typical customer, but customers do have a typical story.
