Meet Matthew McClure who joins our team of Advance Performance Ambassadors
Matthew McClure is a SKINS ambassador through Advance Performance and has been a triathlete for 6 years, also competing in time trial racing.
Here’s what Matt has to say about himself…
I’m 33 and work for family run business in the motor vehicle industry.
I have been a triathlete for 6 years and also compete in time trial racing with numerous podium finishes in the last three years.
I won the North Norfolk triathlon last year, I have also won the local club TT for the past four years and podium finishes at other TT courses as well.
I qualified for Team GB as an age grouper and raced the European finals in Kitzbuhel, Austria in 2014 qualifiying for the world finals last year, but did not attend.
Dave Green has been my coach for three years, the more structured, quality training has seen me progress no end. I train up to 14 hours a week.
Between training and work, I have a family with two boys who run as well, keeping me extremely busy. My eldest, Archie, is 6 and is competing in his first triathlon this year and my 4 year old Alfie is soon going to start doing park runs.
This year I’ve managed to get my self fully sponsored, my main one being my dad, a local car company called Dave Parrin, Terry Wright Cycles and now I’m also a SKINS ambassador.
I’m looking forward to using SKINS to help with faster recovery, which will enable me to train harder and to achieve bigger goals.
I have 10 triathlons this year, 2 being Half Ironman distance and roughly doing 25 TT races, so a really busy season.
