Zone3 in conjunction with the Triathlon Centre @ Advance Performance are sponsoring a triathlete throughout 2016.
Toward the end of 2015 we invited applications for this sponsorship package and made our selection at the start of the year.
Andrew Diplock our Zone3 Local Hero 2016
Our Zone3 Local Hero for 2016 is Andrew Diplock who will be sharing his goals, training, races and results with us this season.
Andrew outlines his early season plans and races:
I’m starting an 8 week block of training at the beginning of March, which will hopefully set me up nicely for my first race of the season at the beginning of May. The training intensity should be increasing over the 8 week period, finishing with a cycling trip to Denia with friends at the end of April.
My first race of the season is on 8 May which is the Nice Tri ITU Standard Qualifier at St Neots.
Following that on 22 May is the Human Race ITU Sprint Qualifier at Eton Dorney.
On 28 May the ETU Sprint Qualifier at Nottingham Watersports Centre.
I’m also considering going to the British Masters Championships swimming in Sheffield on 1-3 April to try and improve my speed in the water!
